| Description | Manage a team that maintains cloud infrastructure for global data center operations! AWS is looking for Technology Managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding, and the drive and vision to take AWS data center operations to the next level. The successful candidate will have experience creating/developing strategy, mentoring people at all levels, mentoring projects, and proposing technical solutions. This position involves leading teams in hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repairs and includes participating in on-call rotations. |

| Key Responsibilities |

| Prioritize and assign difficult tickets to data center technicians and operators. |
| Manage the performance of a diverse team(s) of data center operations professionals with varying skill sets across multiple locations. |
| Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools. |
| Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels. |
| Ensure efficient and effective management of daily data center operations including queue management, 24/7 shift arrangements, and hardware logistics. |
| Quickly learn or act as a subject matter expert in all aspects of data center operations. |
| Ensure that all operational KPIs and metrics are being measured and met. |
| Encourage and lead improvements in team processes, technology innovation, and automation. |
| Manage large-scale incidents (outages) and act as a call leader. |
| Manage and improve workflow and throughput for data center operations. |
| Propose, document, and monitor policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs. |
| Maintain an on-call schedule that coordinates absences and holidays. |
| Be passionate about the quality and quantity of services provided, and continually strive to improve the customer experience. |
| Support data centers in various operational phases, including facilities still in development, which may require travel to established locations for training until the designated site is fully operational. |

| A Day in the Life: Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. This position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed service levels of data center operations. We are currently expanding our Infrastructure Management team and are looking for Technology Managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding, and the drive and vision to take AWS data center operations to the next level. |
| The successful candidate will have experience in creating/developing strategies, leading people at all levels, mentoring projects, and proposing technical solutions. This position involves leading teams in hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repairs and may also involve participating in on-call rotations. All candidates must be willing to work independently and effectively manage their teams. Prioritizing work, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to success. In addition to strong knowledge of data centers, hardware, and network repairs, candidates will create documentation, develop solutions, participate in site-level project work, and troubleshoot complex issues within the data center space. This team operates in a 24/7 environment. |

| Core Qualifications – 4+ years of experience in Information Technology (IT), or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent – 2+ years of operations and on-call support experience in data center facilities, mission critical plants, or manufacturing facilities – 2+ years of team management experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience working with tech and non-tech teams |
| Preferred Qualifications – Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or experience in Linux and networking protocols – Experience in networking administration and troubleshooting |
